Metaphysics is the study of that which is beyond the physical, sense world, and it explores the relationship of mankind to the Divine. Wholeness and Oneness with God and Everything is mankind’s ultimate goal. Metaphysics explores the Divine Ideas of:
The character of God;
How God creates;
The character of mankind;
Man’s relationship with the Divine; and
Man’s ultimate destiny.
As humankind shifts its awareness from the physical to the spiritual realm, the awareness of mankind’s power of thought expands one’s consciousness and great good manifests in one’s life. Humankind’s unselfish evolving spiritual awareness expands until it reaches Christ Consciousness, the expression of unlimited potential in form.
Metaphysics investigates humankind’s exploration of its relationship to Divine Will, the Divine Plan and its co-creative nature with Divine Spirit. Silence, meditation and prayer are all avenues humankind uses to increase its awareness of The Loving Presence. The journey brings a person to reflect on the threefold nature of humankind—spirit, soul and body, and how those three are related and reconciled in the Spiritual realm.

“Unity is a link in the great educational movement inaugurated by Jesus Christ. Our objective is to discern the truth in Christianity and prove it. The truth that we teach is not new; neither do we claim special revelations or discovery of new religious principles. Our purpose is to help and teach humankind to use and prove the eternal Truth taught by the Master.”
Humankind’s purpose in life is to learn the Divine Truths as taught by Jesus Christ and manifest that high awareness in our own lives. Jesus was the fullest expression of Christ Mind in human form. Jesus Christ is appreciated as our Way Shower, the great example, not the great exception. His teachings inform us of the way to achieve this fullest Christ Mind in our life.
The Bible
Unity views the Bible as a valuable spiritual resource. It is a collection of writings compiled over thousands of years, describing the development of a race of people, depicted in historical and allegorical form. It is not to be read literally. Metaphysically, the Bible represents each person’s evolutionary journey toward spiritual awakening—from the Adam consciousness of the physical realm to the Christ consciousness of the spiritual realm. The Bible metaphysically depicts humankind’s growth and unfoldment of the latent spiritual power in man until his spiritual awareness is complete and he manifests the consciousness of Christ Mind, and is the perfect image and likeness of Christ in which he was created.
